The entrance to Foch Lagoon is about 26.5 miles (43 km) southwest of Kitimat and the lagoon is about 1 mile (1.6 km) wide and extends for about 5 miles (8 km) northwest from the western shore of Douglas Channel, British Columbia.
The Marin Headlands peninsula is named after Marin County located across the Golden Gate from San Francisco, California.
